Thank you so much, Mom, for the thoughtful gift!

Micha - Our Yellow Labrador Retriever https://www.countryviewphotography.com/blog/2014/10/micha I have been extremely busy at work, and with the shorter days, have not had much chance to get out with my camera of late.  This morning, after the sun came up, a fog developed, and I thought it looked so cool, I decided to take some time to get some pictures.  As usual, Micha, our lab, was hot on my heels.  But, as I ignored her requests to throw her toy for her to fetch, she soon went off on her own.  When I was done taking pictures of the sea of goldenrod at the edge of our field, I looked around to see where "puppy" had disappeared to.  I immediately spotted her laying down at the top of our mound system, with her toy in front of her, watching me from afar.

She does this while I'm doing my horse chores as well . . . she'll lay down in the grass up by the house and wait for me to finish chores and come in the house.

Of course when she saw me heading her way, she picked up her toy and came running towards me, "can we play now?".  When we got close to the mound, I was surprised that she ran up on top of it again and just stood there looking around.  Aha!  Maybe I can get some good shots of her . . . it's been a while since she's stood still long enough for me to get some nice pictures of her.  I also thought it would be a neat perspective to have her at the higher elevation, so she was basically at my eye level while I was standing.

With the slight fog in the air obscuring the woods in the background, and the rising sun still giving off it's golden hue, I got some really great shots of her as she looked around.  Then I even got her to sit for me and she continued to pose so nice.  So, I hope you don't mind looking thru my "Study of Micha" gallery, where I've posted my favorite photo's from our photo shoot.

McRae Family Photo Shoot https://www.countryviewphotography.com/blog/2014/9/mcrae-family-photo-shoot This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing some of my old neighbors, the McRae family.  Such a beautiful family!  Maddy and Viv did spectacular!  They were so patient with all the different poses, and then having to put up with a newly hatched batch of mosquito's.  The mosquito's were horrible!  But, the pictures turned out beautifully!  Then, after the family photo shoot, it was time to head to their barn to capture some photo's of her horse, Jimmy.  What a magnificent equine!  He was so calm and cooperative for poses.  When he got released from his picture posing duties and could join his buddies again, I got treated to some wonderful horse antics, and did my best to capture some of their fun as well.  It was a wonderful fall day for taking photos and catching up with old friends.  Thank you Scott & Kristy!

Door County Trip https://www.countryviewphotography.com/blog/2014/9/door-county-trip---september-25-2014 Last week Thursday I took a day off of work and spent it on a day trip to Door County with some dear friends.  We had a wonderful day!  The weather was perfect - not too hot and not too cold - and the company was even better.  We visited a local winery, some parks, a lighthouse, and ended the day with an authentic Door County Fish Boil.  On the drive back home, we managed a quick stop to capture the beautiful sunset that was unfolding.  I couldn't believe how large the sun looked as it started to get closer to the horizon . . . a spectacular ending to a beautiful day!  I've posted some of my favorite shots from the day in the "Recent" portfolio and they are also the pictures that greet you on my home page.  Some of these photo's would make lovely wall hangings, or are perfect as a "Distinctive Card".

Welcome to Country View Photography! https://www.countryviewphotography.com/blog/2014/9/wecome I hope you enjoy viewing the photographs I've posted here.

I'm still in the process of constructing my site, so if you have any suggestions for making my website easier to navigate, I'd love to hear them. Share your suggestions with me on the "Contact" page.

Eventually, you will able to order prints of my photographs directly on this website.  You will also be able to order the blank note cards that feature my photographs that I've been selling for the past year; what I've named "Distinctive Cards".

With the launch of this website, I've also decided to do the occasional informal photo shoot.  Whether you want family photo's or photo's of your pets, I will come to you, or go to the location of your choice.  I also would be available to take snapshots at various events, such as horse shows or reunions.  After the event, I will post the pictures in a gallery on my website, and the photo's would be available for purchase by those who attended the event.  The gallery can be set up as open to the public, or I can set up a private gallery.  A private gallery would only be accessible by those individuals with the password.  Please keep in mind, that I'm still very much an amateur at this photography thing, so I cannot promise that every photo will be outstanding.  At this time, I would only be available to go to locations in the nearby Wausau area.  When I get pricing figured out for this service, I'll post that information on the website.

To my family and friends that have followed me thru all the "phases" of my photography, "Thank You" for your continued support.  Without your feedback and Facebook "Likes" of my photographs I post, I never would have taken this leap.
